Description
Huzzah! Huzzah! Its spring in the Arizona desert! Spring means blooming plants including this Cholla cactus.
Cylindropuntia is a genus of cacti, containing this and other cacti species. The spiney Cholla is found in a wide range of environments, from the hot deserts of west Texas to the high Colorado Mountains. The plant has stout, thick branches, bearing fairly short white or light brown spines that allow the green stem color to be clearly visible. Reaching heights of 8 feet, with most stems supported by a strong central trunk, the plant is known for its barbs that tenaciously attach to skin, fur, and clothing.
Some digital effects were applied to the original image after the photograph was made. No electrons were harmed during the transition. Your finished photograph will not contain the Fine Art America watermark.
