Description
Rugged rocky cliffs rise sharply, showcasing a mix of colorful strata with patches of snow clinging to the crevices. Sparse vegetation can be seen at the top, where a few trees stand resiliently against the harsh environment.
Driving up the Big Thompson Canyon in north Colorado is always an event. Not only do you need to stay alert for other drivers who may or may not be as sober as you are, you also should be alert for wildlife on the road, especially early in the morning or late in the evening. Running into a bull elk or big horn sheep is guaranteed to NOT impress your insurance carrier. Remember, the rocks are HARD!
