Description
By climbing Table Mountain in Red Mountain Open Space, you will gain 1200 feet in elevation from your 6200 foot above sea level starting point and be rewarded with spectacular views of the surrounding area containing 1.8 billion years of geological history.
From the top, you will see amazing views of the “Big Hole” landscape to the north, the Rocky Mountains to the west, Mt. Meeker and Long's Peak to the southwest, the High Plains to the east, and on a clear day the City of Fort Collins to the South.
Table Mountain sits in the middle of Colorful Colorado’s Red Mountain Open Space, an area known to geologists, trappers and settlers as "The Big Hole", a singular and unique land form that peaks into the "basement" rocks that underneath northern Colorado and southeastern Wyoming. Soapstone cliffs and bright red Dakota Sandstone are just some of the remarkable features that can be seen along miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails in the area.
Some digital effects were applied to the original image after the photograph was made. No electrons were harmed during the transition. Ordered images will not contain the Fine Art America watermark.
