Description
Vast canyons stretch across the landscape, with shadowed valleys and illuminated cliffs creating a striking contrast. A winding river flows through the scene, adding a dynamic element to the rugged terrain.
Over time, the Arizona Grand Canyon was chiseled out of the desert by the mighty Colorado River. It is contained within and managed by Grand Canyon National Park, the Hualapai Tribal Nation, and the Havasupai Tribe. President Theodore Roosevelt was a major proponent of preservation of the Canyon, and visited it on numerous occasions to hunt and enjoy the scenery.
Some digital effects were applied to the original image after the photograph was made. No electrons were harmed during the transition.
