Description
Northern Colorado's wide open spaces are inviting in many ways. For example, Lory State Park has plenty of places to hike. The park is just west of Horsetooth Reservoir near the city of Ft. Collins in northern Colorado.
Formerly ranchland, Lory State Park was purchased in 1967 and named in honor of Dr. Charles A. Lory, president of Colorado State University from 1909 thru 1940.
The park contains Arthur's Rock, a jutting granite formation named for an early settler in the area.
