Description
This is a dry waterfall in Lory State Park west of Ft. Collins, Colorado. During the early spring, the rocks provide a pathway for runoff from recent rainfall but for the rest of the year, the water doesn’t flow.
Formerly ranch land, Lory State Park was purchased in 1967 and named in honor of Dr. Charles A. Lory, president of Colorado State University from 1909 thru 1940.
The park contains Arthur's Rock, a jutting granite formation named for an early settler in the area.
Some digital effects were applied to the original image after the photograph was made. No electrons were harmed during the transition.
