Artist's Description

If you hoot with the owls, you can't fly with the eagles they say. I've always been an early riser and an equally early hit the sack kind of person - that simply means that I've seen some stuff that Trophy Wife hasn't. All that aside, this image was made near the Big Thompson Canyon in northern Colorado early one frosty morning after most of the leaves had completed their annual turning/falling sequences.

Digital effects were added after the original photograph was made. Image copyright 2013 Jon Burch Photography

My first camera was acquired by trading an ancient Royal typewriter to a fellow college student who was desperate to finish a term paper. It was a long time ago and that camera was my passport to an art that has fascinated me ever since.
