Artist's Description
Elk graze in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado during the fall rut. A lot of people drive up to Moraine Park or Beaver Meadows to watch the festivities. Be sure to bring a folding chair, binoculars, wine if you want it, a hot drink, AND a warm coat. The evenings get rather chilly.
The rutting season lasts from September through October when the fall colors are the best so don't forget the camera.
