Artist's Description

A fellers gotta eat! Mud ovens were used when kitchen stoves weren't available. This one, at old Ft. Lupton in Weld County, Colorado looks like it's had some use.

The Tallow River Trappers in conjunction with the South Platte Valley Historical Society holds three major rendezvous throughout the year. The first rendezvous of the year is called the Frozen Toes Rendezvous and is held the last weekend in February. The Lancaster Restoration Rendezvous is held Memorial Day Weekend and finally, the Trapper Days Rendezvous is held on the weekend following Labor Day and coincides with the town of Fort Lupton's Trapper Days Celebration. Some digital effects were applied to this original image after the photograph was made. No electrons were harmed during the transition. Ordered images will not contain the FAA watermark.
