Description
I first met Sid in an aquarium in a doctor's office waiting room in Longmont, Colorado. Sid was hiding in a short piece of PVC plastic pipe and I hadn't noticed him until he moved. At first, I thought he was a water snake, but he was much more interesting than that.
The Zebra Moray Eel is an eye catching and extremely docile species that derives its name from the bold pattern of bars on its body. An ideal addition to the community fish tank. It poses no threat to its tank mates or the aquarist, and is often out and about during the day rather than at night. A 125 gallon or larger aquarium should be provided with crevices for hiding that are large enough to conceal the eel's entire body.
