Description
This is the Golden fault. It extends from Ralston Dike to Mount Carbon, a distance of about 15 miles along northern Colorado’s Front Range. The fault is a westward-dipping, high angle reverse fault which has brought older beds up over younger beds. Its effects are most profound west and southwest of Golden, Colorado where large parts of the normal stratigraphic sequence have been cut out of the surface section.
Image made near Dinosaur Ridge on the west edge of Denver, Colorado.
Some digital effects were applied to this original image after the photograph was made. No electrons were harmed during the transition. Ordered images will not contain the FAA watermark.
