Description
Mountain Strong - you see signs saying that all along the Big Thompson River. The canyon is coming back and so are the residents. They are recovering from a monster flood in northern Colorado when the Big Thompson River did what it does every so often and Highway 34 from Loveland to Estes Park, Colorado was history for several months.
People in this part of the world have seen two "100 year" floods in the past 37 years, the flood of 1976 and now a more recent one that crippled the area in the fall of 2013.
These peaks rising above Rocky Mountain National Park are reminders to everybody just what it means to be 'Mountain Strong'.
